MEDIA RELEASE - NOTL AMBASSADORS BACK ON THE STREET FOR 2026

May 2026

Niagara-on-the-Lake Ambassadors, now in their 6th season, are happy to announce the launch of their 2026 season on Friday May 15th.   The program has expanded to 110 volunteers, including 28 new members.  Everyone is trained and excited to start greeting visitors and residents.

On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, from Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving, look out for the Ambassadors dressed in their blue vests.  Ambassadors will be at the kiosk (located beside the Court House on Queen Street) and strolling the streets of Old Town to connect with visitors and to share their passion for the town.  Ambassadors will also be stationed inside the Court House, which is open to visitors from noon – 4pm, when the Ambassadors are on duty.

In 2025, Ambassadors greeted over 62,000 visitors from over 100 countries.  Feedback from visitors and locals has been tremendous. Ambassadors are a friendly, welcoming face to help visitors explore and enjoy this wonderful town.

The Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake website offers a short introductory video of the Ambassador Program Visitor Information & Transportation .

Laurie Harley, Co-Lead of the Program, pointed out that the “all-volunteer” program wouldn’t be possible without the support of Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and a dedicated group of tourism partners.  “They are our Champions.  They host site visits, provide in-kind support, keep Ambassadors informed and most importantly encourage them to continue to share the unique NOTL story and create unforgettable memories for our visitors. “

Every visitor. Every encounter.  An extraordinary experience.
